Cutie Pie Wk 33

Today sees the start of the new challenge over at Cutie Pies and we would love to see your Cute Christmas creations. We are sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads   The design team have some lovely creations to share with you so pop over to the challenge blog here for more inspiration.

Stamps by Papermania
Papers by MME
Glamour dust, stickles,
Ribbon, snowflake punch.

My weekend away with my sister was a disaster - Toby had to have emergency surgery for two hernias on thursday and the vets took his bits away at the same time. I asked my sis if she could find someone else but she could not at short notice, on saturday Toby became very poorly with a temp of 40.9 and would not eat or drink and became quite lifeless so my hubby rushed him to the emergency vets, they gave him an injection. After lots of TLC, vet visits and anti biotics he is back to his normal self and l hope the vet gives him the all clear to come out of his doggie crate to play.  I don't think l could go through a loss again at the moment.

Thank you to Janice and Lynn for sending lovely cards to Toby to welcome him into his new home and a special thank you to Janice for the lovely gifts and Woof Woof from Toby x
Hope to catch up with you all soon, happy crafting x Susan x

Mine has been very hectic so l am just having a little me time and catching up as well as showing you a card l made last night for my grandson's birthday in December - they have recently got a puppy, he is all black and given the chance Jacob would lasso him and pull him around all day so this is a perfect image for him.  I bought the stamp in March and it has been waiting for ink along with a few other stamps. Hope you are all enjoying a crafty weekend.  We had a cold start to the day as our boiler was playing up, it was only serviced 2 weeks ago  - fortunately we have it on a service contract and BG came out this morning.
Last night l had a little electric heater to keep me warm in my craft room and l even considered sleeping in there lol. Today's card has been 2 days in the making as l faffed about till l was happy with it. When l made the other LOTV Geisha Girl card a couple of weeks ago l found loads of oriental things in my stash including this gorgeous bamboo stamp by Judikins that l have had ages and never used - perfect for backgrounds. I added lots of flowers which are mostly from WOC including a poppy for rememberance, l bought these when they first had them available and l have just kept looking at them and stroking them as they are gorgeous.

Remembering

This weekend we remember all the brave people that have lost their lives serving their countries over the years and protecting each one of us.  Bless You All and Thank You x
Quite a few challenges have been set recognising this, l had a play with the ink dusters last night to make this simple card.  I lightly dusted the red square, then cut a circle to cover centre then inked darker around the square, then used the square with circle cut out to mask for stamping in the circle, does that make sense?

In the Beginning There Was........

A leaflet that came through the door advertising the opening of Hobbycraft in Leeds - so l thought l would have a drive over and see what it was all about..... I bought a little kit to make Easter cards with the children
Here it is along with the internet print out dated 6/3/2005

and that must have been a very expensive day as ££££££££££'s later l needed a room to put my stash in
This is the new shelving unit and desk top l bought from Ikea recently, this houses my stamps, inks and bits...

These boxes have stamps in  - all are catalogued  in the leeds united folders so l know where to find them, the boxes under my desk are mostly stamps not yet used.
This tall bookcase is home for most of my papers, card and blanks

These big drawers from Ikea  have 'stuff' ' on top and 'stuff'' inside including flowers.....................

Oh yes l have even more flowers....These plastic drawers have flowers l mostly use and are colour labelled
 #
So this is where l hang out most evenings and when l get some free time. l even have a little space on my desk  for my G&T or glass of wine - l get room service too my hubby brings it up for me, that way he gets to watch sport every night on TV undisturbed lol  x Susan x

Good evening my friends.  I had a lovely bouquet delivered today such a lovely surprise to lift my spirits a bit  and l won the last oldie but a good challenge too, thanks ladies. Oh and l forgot to tell you my hubby had a nice lottery win last week :)  Whats his is mine :)))
I spent the most of yesterday in my craft room faffing about - l bought the 2 Geisha stamps at Harrogate a few weeks ago and they have been on the edge of my desk waiting to be inked up. They are just stunning but need a careful hand when colouring as they are quite detailed. I set too gathering all this oriental out of drawers and shelves l had already decided my colour scheme and a few years back my daughter bought me the gorgeous Oriental set of papers/brads etc by Papermania - the papers are just stunning all reds and golds. I have some Aspects of Design stamps that have not seen daylight for years so they came out too..   I was surprised just how many oriental stamps l had once l started looking lol.

The challenge runs until 1st November.

Coloured with copics

Can you believe l have been over to Lili of the Valleys open day this afternoon and walked out emptied handed.... l should not have gone as my head is in a very dark place at the moment so if l don;t get around to visiting you all please forgive me.
Yesterday l had to do a first aid course as my certificate is out of date - l had to walk out of the room when they had the dummy on the floor to practice CPR on as all l could see was my son lying on the road unresponsive after he was hit by a car - they came out and told me that part of the course was over and they were moving onto bumps, cuts and grazes  and bandages..... when l went in they started talking about bumps to the head and cerebal fluid = what it looks like and where it could leak from..... when your son has died from serious head injuries after battling for 12 weeks you do not want to hear this - so that is me back to a big dark hole for l don't know how long again.  Sorry if l have upset anyone  l did not intend to.

HM Hugging A Bird

I certainly am on a roll at the moment with my crafting and really enjoying myself.  Today l am sharing another House Mouse with you and as the current challenge over at House Mouse Friends Monday Challenge is ATC l was quite restricted with the size of stamp l used so l cut my little atc size in scrap paper  (63x89mm) and measured my stamps, l had a few l had not used and have been itching to use this one. Another of my stamps l bought from my friend Angie - Hope you like it Angie x
I had one shapebility set on my list last weekend and as soon as l saw the Fall Foliage set with the pine cones it went in my basket, l have embossed the cones then sanded them and added acrylic paint and a touch of stickles, l can see these becoming my favourite die.  The photo does not really show how sparkly this card is but it has loads of sparkle on the pine branches of the image.

Stamp - House Mouse - Hugging a Bird

LOTV Teddy with Penguin

Good evening everyone, l am so pleased that l have managed a few posts within days.  Today started off damp and dull but mid morning the sun came through so we headed off to the allotment to build new compost bins (l watched lol), just need a day or so to  finish off the digging for the winter but the ground is so wet.  The sun is just beautiful today but there is just a nip in the air.

So on with the card - l bought this LOTV stamp at Harrogate on Sunday, can you believe l only bought three of there stamps, this one and the two geisha girls which l hope to ink up soon.

The beak debate- Are Penguins beaks black or yellow/orange??? When colouring this image l could not make my mind up so googled the question and according to Wiki Penguins beaks are indeed Black but whenever l see images coloured they are yellow, so what do you think - yellow or black?  I think l will be checking this out on my Life in The Freezer DVD... in the meantime l am going with black.

Autumn Meeces

It seems such a long time since l have been a regular blogger and l apologise in advance for not being a faithful follower - summer holidays happened then my inspiration took off somewhere and then well - l just could not be bothered.  The dark night are almost upon us so l will hibernate in my craft room.
I went to the Papercraft show at Harrogate with my grandaughter yesterday and bought a few bits and pieces, the show seemed quieter this time but we still managed to stay most of the day. My grandaughter is 9 and is a 'crafter in training' she thoroughly enjoyed the show and was thrilled when she got her money out to pay for card blanks on Anna Maries stand and the chap asked her if they were for her and told her she could have them free .... perhaps she should have made my purchases for me lol.

So on with the card - this is with one of the House Mouse stamps l bought from my lovely friend Angie - thanks Angie, l hope you like what l have done with the stamp.  I am going to send this one to my niece who is  living and working in Jamaica, she is missing the seasons and autumn is her favourite.
