Penny Black Saturday Challenge wk 180

Just thought l had better get back into blogland - had a few weeks off. The Christmas Fayre at my daughters school did not do as well as l had hoped but she says it was same on all tables. I did have some sales and with the other cards l have sold l will have just over £230 to send to Martin House Childrens Hospice.
Irene - if you are reading this thanks for the Reindeer food, my other daughter took it to her work and it sold. x
I hit rock bottom after Davids inquest last friday - the right verdict was given Accidental death. I walked into the docs monday afternoon and the receptionist got me an emergency appointment after l have rung many times an not been able to get one. The doc put me on happy pills to see how l go.
The card - what am l like l made this on sunday from several challenges this week and l missed them all except the one l initially had in mind - Penny Black.
Stamp - Penny Black - Winter White & greens, silver embossing powder
Cuttlebug embossing folders
Snowflake punch
Glamour dust.

Preparing for Christmas Fayre

Sorry l have not been around looking at your amazing blogs this weeks but have been very busy and advance apologies if l don't get around to you over the next two coming weeks. I have been working like crazy getting ready for the Christmas Fayre at my daughters school on the 26th November. It is the first time l have ever done one - and all the proceeds l am donating to Martin House Childrens Hospice. On my last post l told you l had approached a local company asking if they would kindly help by supporting me and they said yes - well the generous company is Craftwork Cards and WOW was l surprised, they sent me a box with card blanks and lots of die cuts and matching papers and of course some card candi. My daughter thought it would be great if l could make some mini kits of "make your own cards" and Craftwork card came to the rescue, l have been cutting papers to card size and making kit bags up, punching corners out adding foam squares for the candi and all the children need is glue and glitter, l made up cards to show what could be made too - just hope they go down a treat, l put a little slip in each pack to say the items were very generously donated by Craftwork cards too and who knows we may have some new crafters out there. Also made choc treat bags and lots of other things - hope to have time to show you more. As well as this l have had a few orders to do too - all for my fundraising, my bit of payback for all they did for our son.
Anyway here are a couple of cards l have made earlier this week with boxes too.

Penny Black Wk 175

A quick post from me before my 2 little granchildren arrive for the 24 hour weekly stop over. Have had a couple of difficult days and am exhausted in every sense. Anyway l am a woman on a mission to get ready for the christmas fayre in just over 3 weeks and have approached a local company for any help/support they may be able to offer and am over the moon that they are happy to help - more news of that another time. Martin House Hospice are sending me some posters so l can make people aware of where the proceeds are going.
Today l have made some small boxed sets of quick and easy to make notelets, l used craftwork cards 12 cm blanks (love these as they are a beautiful white and good quality) from one of my Goody Bags and stamped them with the delightful Silhouette Pocket stamp set from SU. I made boxes to put them in, bit of ribbon around and make nice little gift sets.

My card today is for my daughters birthday tomorrow. I adore this stamp Penny Black - Acrobat coloured with copics. The challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge is a sketch by Nat.

LOTV Wk 118

Oh What have l done..... I have never done a fair before, the school my daughter teaches at are having a Christmas one in 4 weeks and l have agreed to do a table. I have sold a few of my cards in the past and when my son David passed away in July l said any money from my cards would be donated to Martin House Childrens Hospice as a bit of pay back for all they did for David.
I have a lot of cards made but thought l would make little stocking fillers so any ideas are very gratefully received. PLEASE.

The card today l made on friday as l have been in panic mode today.... this is for LOTV challenge 118 and is a sketch by Bev - a nice easy one to follow and this little cutie Birthday Fairy is yet another of my uninked stamps - shame on me. The paper are Kaisercraft (wish Upon)
Coloured with copics and lots of stickles , still practicing my grass. Sentiment LOTV.

Whiff of Joy Willow

I have made the most of the lovely weather we have had here today and spent 3 hours in the garden cutting back and tidying for the winter, hope it stays for a few more days and then it should all be done and the tools put away for another year. Hope you have all had good weather too.
On with the card - l can not remember the last time l inked Willow up and is'nt she gorgeous. I had in mind Lilac and green for the Ribbon girl challenge and played about for hours and ended up with a simple layout. Well that is another weekend gone by, debated whether to go to Doncaster today to the craft show, l just could not make my mind up so a quick text to my friend Julie to see if she was going and after an hour on the phone my mind was made up - stay home and craft.
The challenge over at Emma's crafty store is new beginnings and l have just checked Emma's blog and she gave birth to her very own new beginning this morning - a baby girl so congratulations Emma & Steve.
I have used this little sweet image from Lili of the valley Little Acorns and coloured it with copics.I used a MS heart border punch and used the little scrap hearts too (how thrifty am l today lol), My nestie scalloped hearts and a wooden heart which l distressed. LOTV Christmas cutie

Hope you are all having some sunshine today - the sky is clear here, beautiful and bright. Have just spent hours trailing around for cake tins for the cakes hubby is making as gifts. I should have bought tins of chocolate roses, eaten them and put the cakes in there - would have been cheaper too lol.
The card
This is a lovely stamp by Lili of the Valley (another of my unstamped ones) called Skating along and l could not resist adding glossy accents to give the effect of ice. The ribbon l have had for a few years - think l got it from Samuel Taylors and have only used it flat around card and not made a bow with it before, l am pleased with the bow it looks gorgeous and gives great dimension..

Advent Box

Hello everyone, well the weekend is here and it looks like the weather is to stay fair... may have to catch up on all those outside jobs. I have spent all afternoon making my card and then it was too dull to take a decent photo so l am sharing an advent calender box l made at my friend Chris's on monday. Chris was well prepared for us and l am so pleased she cut all those tiny boxes in advance for us, all we had to do was fold and glue - thanks Chris. Two other Stampin Up friends came too Julie and Karen, Karen made the most delicious cake with a plum jam filling and we all had 2 pieces each - well it would have been rude not to finish it lol.
We used all Stampin Up products and this red paper from the christmas set is gorgeous. I kept it simple without adding any further embellishments.
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your weekend x Susan x

PBSC wk 172

Hello and welcome to my little corner. Last night and today l have had my two youngest grandchildren as l do every week and l am shattered, no energy left tonight to just taking it easy. Last night l had a major hurdle to get through - it was a school presentation night and our son had an award to collect but it was also the first time l had been back into school since David passed away and all l can say it was too much for me to take (the last time David was in normal health was the day l dropped him at school 8/4 day of his accident and that was the last time l saw him on his feet and walking). During the presentation there was a power cut so my tears were not visible to everyone.
On with my card - my youngest grandson will be 4 next week so l made this card for him, l have 3 grandsons and all have 5 letters in their names so they will all be getting a similar card.
Stamps Penny Black - Bear blanks

I am entering this into this weeks Just Magnolia Challenge where Pop's has set it as Anything Goes with the option of coffee and cream

Less Is More Wk36

After a busy day yesterday l was looking forward to a day with some playtime. Last night our water supply went off briefly when there was a mains leak in Bradford but this morning we were back to normal - or so l thought. I take my grandaughter to school in a morning as daughter starts work early, she dropped her off as normal then l had a call just as we were ready to set off - school closed due to no water supply........... So we made a mini pizza box and decorated it and hama bead animals and shapes. Tomorrow is my day.....maybe.
When l looked at the challenge at LIM on saturday l thought l have only one heart stamp and no inspiration to use it and then while flicking though my book of my stamps l saw a little heart and an idea jumped straight into my head.
The card:-
All stamps are from Stampin Up
Flourish (Baroque set)
heart (Mini Tags)
Sentiment - Christmas Is Love With all The Trimmings (Contempary Christmas)

How perfect is that sentiment for this card
I just drew squiggly lines up to flourish

Bah-Humbug wk 39

Had a couple of hours all to myself this afternoon before my two youngest grandchildren arrived for the regular wednesday night sleepover and will be here all day tomorow so l will be kept busy. I was going to do this weeks Penny Black challenge until l realised l don't have any farmyard animal stamps so went for the Bah Humbug challenge instead which this week is Nativity. I think Max, Barb and Ann all had the hump last week..... they all made cards with camels on without knowing what each of the others had done - l don't have any camels so that was out of the question. I have used stamps by crafters companion that l have had a long while and never used any from this little set - Christmas Blessings.
The papers are some l have in a box with no name on, used ktaft card for the base and MS snowflake punch. Covered the poinsettia with glossy accents and diamond dust and added a spacer and brad through the centre. The sentiment is from the same set and l have embossed in gold, the lovely stickles are gold and a few card candi dots to finish off.

Tilda all sparkled up

It has been one of those days dashing here, there and everywhere and could do with adding a few more hours to it, although l am shattered.
Over on Docrafts l am hosting the Tilda challenge, this is where all my crafting started really and it saddens me to see that not many join in these days but l suppose peeps move on. I set the challenge to make your own background and not any printed papers.
I made the background with an enormous cover a card stamp inked with a SU pad then matched all my colours around it. Used kraft card again as my base and as the pack is 20 12x12 sheets you will be lots more of it lol. The big flowers l got a few years ago, they are Tara Green and were being sold off at a bargain price and are a lovely quality. Glitter and sparkle everywhere.
Take care and happy crafting always x Susan x

Lili of the Valley wk 114 - Button It

Hello to everyone stopping by - sorry l have neglected my blogging over the last few days, l hope to do some catching up now. My daughter came yesterday with the intention of crafting.... we went shopping then back home for a lovely sunday dinner and that was it for the day. Hope you have all had time to enjoy this gorgeous weather we have been having, it has been warm today but very windy - a good monday wash day.
On with the card I used the same layout as the card l made for our sons birthday the other week - which also had buttons on it but used different papers and image. I 'found' this stripy card in a pack of 10 A4 double sided christmas sheets l bought from Harrogate a year or two ago £1.20 a bargain as one side christmas the other stripy or checks, think they were from A Touch of Craft. Spotty paper from Stampin Up and Kraft card base. Blew the dust off the sewing machine added a new needle and hey presto a bit of stitching too!

Snowy Hugs

Good morning - hope you have all been getting some of the lovely sunshine the last few days. The downside is l look around for washing and have a huge mountain to iron :( The sky is quite grey and we have had a couple of spots of rain so maybe the heatwave is over.
My daughter is coming over to craft today so no HW will be done today.
My card:- The Tilda challenge over on DoCrafts is Bling so l made this card and it fits a couple of other challenges too.
I think this has to be my favourite Tilda stamp it is soooooo cute and lovely to colour especially Snowy - he's the white one lol. I have hardly used any of my Tilda stamps this year and should use them more - sorry Tilda. My neglected Magnolia papers have seen light of day too. The flowers are from WOC with stickles added. The sentiment is a cuddly buddly stamp. I have been inspired by Pop's blog - she is such a talented lady and her work is beautiful, Pop's uses Kraft card on many of her cards. I had to ask sheepishly at my local craft shop what is it and do you have some? Used kraft card for the backing, sentiment and leaves and love the effect it gives. The charm is one l bought last year from The Hobby House, the have a great selection and Jill is always very helpful.

Here comes the sun x

What a beautiful day of sunshine today and the weatherman says more to come. Do you ever start one small job and it turns out to take all day... l decided to tidy the conservatory which had been transformed into a toy room for the grandchildren - well l don't know how it all fit in there, l decided to move some of the boxes into the garage. Big mistake the garage was a right mess as my husband has had run of it this year, my car is now loaded to the brim with stuff for the tip tomorrow and when OH is golfing on monday l will be filling it again with more of his rubbish, l think my garage has become a place for - we might need it at some time in the future store lol.
My card today is the one l made for our sons birthday a week ago l don't often do male cards as l find them so hard.
The stamp and sentiment is LOTV coloured with copics still working on the grass (Thanks Pop's for tut on your blog). The papers are Stampin Up.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 170

Hello everyone, today has just flown by - could it be something to do with the nights getting darker earlier??? Dropped son off at cadets just after 6 popped into supermarket and it was dark when l came out just after 7, think l may be going into hibination soon lol .
Todays card is for the challenge over at Penny Black Saturday - the challenge is monchromatic and l have chosen yellow. The stamp is called A Touch and l have coloured it with copics and added some beads to the centres. I stamped the background in yellow in with a cover the page stamp called vines - so easy to do when you don't have just the right coloured backing paper. Stickles around the panels - l wish l had shares in the company l seem to be using loads. Ribbon, button and flower from a Papermania capsule collection l have had for ages.
Thank you for stopping by and a BIG Thank You for all the lovely comments left on my blog recently, l have been feeling very down lately and you all cheer me up x Susan x

I have managed to use stamps l have not used before (still lots to go at lol ). I used the brayer to make my background, the reindeer and verse stamp are both from Inkylicious and the tree is from Clarity Stamps, The sentiment stamp is from Stampin up, a bit of glitter here and there. The flash on the camera has left a light on the card but l am not a whizz with the camera so it is the best l can do.

Cupcake Challenge 160

Hello lovely people, l hope you are all having a good weekend and enjoying some crafty time. I have been in my room ages and only made one card, l am trying to keep my stamps all logged so l know what l have and where to find it - in theory it works well but one box has creeped in from somewhere and stamps have jumped into all by themselves so l have given them a good talking too and told them to behave. I have also sorted my copics into some sort of order.
The card..... l saw this challenge at the being of the week and the stunning card Coops has posted there, l had some black card lying around and as some know l am trying to use stamps l have not inked before (they can then be logged and put away) I can not remember how long l have had this little lady from Pink Gem designs but the colour challenge fits her well and halloween is not far away, l coloured her with copics and prismas, l coloured a background and stamped this lovely spiders web (Lavinia stamps), the boo stamp is from Stampin up. The background paper is Back to Basics ll.
Cupcake Challenge The Darkside (Purple and Black).

Had a play day

It was lovely to see my crafty friends today when we descended on Chrissies our lovely Stampin Up crafter where we made a gorgeous Calender Bag with the help of our leader. After a bit of faffing about the final result was amazing and l hope to make a few as gifts. It is a long time since l joined in the fun and was pleased with myself that l held it all together and got through - thanks my very dear friends x
The card today is just for a LOTV challenge over on do crafts where we had a bit of a sketch to follow and embellies to add, using our fav stamp. I think this stamp is adorable all the cards l have seen have been so lovely with her and l felt l might not do it any justice but l had a long play yesterday and think it is ok. Pop's gave a bit of a tutorial on her colouring of grass (Thanks Pop's) but don't think l have got it quite right yet - note to self... practice grass!!!
The paper are Stampin Up, flowers WOC sentiment is Pink Gem. Thank you for stopping by x Susan x

Less Is More wk 33

Over at less Is more the lovely ladies are hoping to have 1000 entries - thats some going and to make it a bit easier the girls have given us freedom to play and l must say l did struggle with that. I made this one last night by repeat stamping this gorgeous little tree along the bottom of the card and just embossed 5mm in all around the edge, so simple to make and ideal for posting in the mail at Christmas - perhaps l should go and make some more contributions to this fab challenge. I have spent the morning doing HW so it is now my playtime.

Less Is More Wk32

Look what the wind has blown in - that's what l will be saying to my hubby when he comes back from golf - can you believe it, silly old .... playing in this wind.
Had a fabulous time at Harrogate this weekend, a few hours on saturday and the day there yesterday with my friend Julie, we started the day with a workshop with Barbara Gray - she is a lovely lady and we had a brill time, l had my brayer out last night to make a card too. Spent a bit more than l planned, got my LOTV stamps on saturday then yesterday l saw someone paying with a card, in the past they have been cash only, well it would have been rude to pass by and not use my card wouldn't it??? so bought some more. Disappointed Craftwork Cards did not have any of there lovely 12x12 patterned paper as l was hoping to stock up. I am determined to use all the things l bought by the end of October. We shall see.
The card is for the Less Is More Challenge and l was very pleased with the result of it, l have just shown my friend and she wants 10 making - all money in the pot for Martin House Hospice (as is all the money l make from any cards l sell.
Stamps from Stampin Up set Hopeful Thoughts inked with Stampin Write pens and used my Stampamajig for positioning.

Santa Claus is Coming to own

I have just got back from Harrogate - l can hear you all saying "but you were'nt supposed to be going until tomorrow" this is true but Michael was invited to a bereaved sibling group at Martin House in Boston Spa and the showground is only a 20 min drive away so it made sense to go and have a wander. I am going tomorrow with my friend as we already have tickets. It was not as busy as usual and managed to stay in budget with a few pounds left for tomorrow.
I made this card last night for a challenge over at Winter Wonderland where this weeks theme is Santa Claus is Coming to Town
The backing papers are DCWV Christmas Wishes, the santa stamp is by Hampton Art l have just coloured his hat and added some gold glamour dust. Flower spritzed with glimmer mist and beads added to centre. Sentiment by Fizzy Moon added punched holly leaves and beads. Thank you for stopping by
