Monday Blues

A very hectic day in my house today, 2 littleies are here and the boys are off school for a teacher training day and we postponed sunday dinner for today as we were unwell yesterday with our first cold of the year.

I made this card yesterday for a challenge over on DoCrafts - hosted by Incy the ABC Colour challenge and Kay chose Ivory. Boy was this a difficult colour l added brown to enhance the ivory otherwise it would have all got lost along the way. The image is Bumble from the Gorjuss Girl range and l think she is so sweet. I have coloured with distress inks and added a touch of H2 0's. I wish l could colour with copics as l have quite a lot in my collection, l have ordered some prisma pencils and have my sansodor on standby so will need lots of time to practice.

I am so addicted to these flowers from WOC as they really set the card off. Thanks for dropping by hope you have a happy crafting time x Susan x

I am on a roll with cards this week ...at the price of lack of HW but l am having fun and that is what matters. Hope everyone has managed some crafting time this weekend. I hope to do some blog visiting when l have posted this card.

The card - l am entering into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge

This is one of the first PB stamps l bought abd is still one of my favourites.

The challenge was a layout and l hope l have followed it ok.

Papers by Stampin Up, coloured with distress inks and a touch of H2 0's, flowers by WOC and punched flowers at end of swirls.

Penny Black Saturday challenge wk 135

Made my card a few days ago but have been so busy that l have not had the time to get on here. The challenge over on Penny Black was something from the sales, the only item l have bought was the backing paper which is dovecraft and it was half price at the Range. I love the sentiment which l have embossed in white. Thank you for looking and l hope to be getting around to looking around the blogs soon x Susan x

Entry for LOTV challenge blog

I am very busy at the moment with family commitments and my crafting time is very precious. Managed to go to a class today run by a very talented lady with the most amazing copic colouring skills.

This is the first time l have entered a lili of the valley challenge. I love there stamps and have a few but never used them much so here as a good excuse to use them.

I coloured the image with distress inks. The papers are all by Stampin Up and flowers from WOC - love these new trellis roses and will NEED more of them lol.

Pretty In Pink

I love pink and all things girly so could no resist Loretta's challenge over on DC, she also set a layout to follow which was straight forward enough. I made this last night and l am certainly a novice with the copics but l think this looks ok.

The image is a Lili of the Valley - another of my unused stamps (and l have a box full), l have found a LOTV sheet of stamps l forgot l had that have not seen ink yet.

The flowers are from Wild Ordchid Crafts just added a bit of glitter here and there.

Hope to pop back to blogland later tonight. Happy crafting x Susan x

Happy Weekend

I have managed a bit more time on my crafting this week and hopefully will have a good few hours at it tomorrow. It is so dark here today - roll on spring. The snowdrops are through so it can't be too far off now.

On with my card - this is for Snoflakes wk 3 on DC. The image is a lovely stamp by Little Claire and l have coloured him with copics then added heat and stick powder and then glitter on the top. I like the effect this gives and is perfect with this stamp. The paper is MME and l only have a small square left, l am trying to use up sheets instead of cutting into others as l seem to end up with loads of pieces. I am quite liking the card candy at the moment as it gives a simple finish.

Thank you for visiting my blog and enjoy your crafting x Susan x

Penny Black Challenge Wk134

I have not done a challenge for any other site than on do crafts for ages so decided to give this a go - just hope l can link it!!!

The challenge was to take 4 items from a 'Buffet Table'

My items were:- Patterned paper, Ribbon, 3 Flowers and 3 Gems.

A lovely challenge and l hope to be able to join in more often as l do love my PB's.

I am also adding this to the lovely Fluffles PB challenge over on do crafts in a rhyme theme and mine was going to be Ladybird Ladybird but l was pipped to the post so this is Round and Round the Garden Like a Teddy Bear.

Happy Monday

Today l have been to my crafty friend Chrissies today for a Stampin Up playtime. It was lovely to see my friends and catch up. I had little Esther with me and she was as good as gold, we managed to make 2 lovely cards and l came away loaded up with goodies l bought recently.

My card...l made this a a challenge over on DC - it was to a layout and something red, you have to look carefully to find the red, it is the ink (barn door) on the heart l stamped, maybe l should do another one with a bit more red.

Ladybug Tilda is coloured with distress inks and the papers are magnolia. The sentiment and heart are also magnolia stamps from last years spring set and this is the first time l have cut into the set and used any of them so still have plenty to go at.

I got a reaction from my daughter tonight when l showed her this card - l don't often get one except 'it is ok', she said it was beautiful, l nearly fell over lol.

Thanks for looking and happy crafting x Susan x

Lazy Sunday

Lazy Sunday....I wish. Had a very hectic week but have managed to make a little time to play with my crafty bits. In theory l would like to be able to make a card each day and update on here.

I enjoyed making the blue Tilda card - this is the first time l have used this stamp and hope to use it a lot more as l think it is so sweet. I decided to do blue and made up the card first before colouring Tilda not too sure on the colouring. The papers are some l have had years and l just added a bit of glitter to the flowers.

The christmas card is for snoflakes challenge over on DC - wk 2, keeping up so far lol.

Hope you are all having a good crafty time x Susan x

Betsy Bluebell

The snow and ice have gone - to be replaced by heavy rain. Roll on spring, can't be too far away as the bulbs are poking their noses through the soil.

The card... The image is Betsy Bluebell by Penny Black. Coloured with distress inks and H 2 O's

l made my background first then coloured to match as l am finding this much easier rather than colouring then looking for paper.

I made this for a DC challenge hosted by Incy which had to include doodling. Well...... l don't doodle and wonder if l have spoilt my card.

The paper is a MME and MS punch for border.

Two days - two cards and no glitter, ribbon or flowers.... whats going on???

Thanks for looking x Susan x

First Card of the Year

Happy New Year to all Bloggers & Crafters. We were away for 2 weeks over Christmas which has thrown me out of my routine - but we had a fantastic time cruising the Caribbean. So back to reality and the cold.

Hope you all had a great christmas.

I made a card for one of my lovely crafting friends this week but forgot to photo it. Hope you liked it Angie and are having a great day today.

My card.... l bought these Clarity Stamps at the NEC in november and they have just been sat there waiting to be used, l must admit l was frightened of using them as l am not confident with the brayer and Barbara Gray makes it look so easy. I made this card last night and was thrilled to see BG on C&C today for 3 hours so having been watching her in amazement.

I still need lots of practice, this is also the first of my christmas cards for Snoflakes challenge over on DC.
