Exciting times for me - l am going to New Zealand on thursday for 3 weeks. I will be staying with my cousin in Christchurch that l have not seen for almost 35 years, we are taking off for a week travelling around visiting the glaciers and Lake Wanaka where her daughter livesand other places. The second week l am travelling on my own on the scenic coastal train up to Picton and an overnight stay then coach to Nelson - two nights there and back on the coach to Christchurch and some more family time.
I ordered currency over the telephone from a well known travel agent that l have always used and found competitive ...until now. I collected my NZ dollars and the rate was 2.01 then when walking back through Sainsburys to the car park l saw on there board 2.24 which l thought must be a mistake. When l got home l looked online at Sainsburys rate and sure enough it was correct so l rang the Travel Agent and told them how disappointed l was - loyal customer ect ect, the agent told me that their online rate was also higher than l had been given and as a gesture of goodwill are refunding me £83 which is the difference between store and online rate- she made me laugh she said it is a bit like click and collect - just order your currency on the web and go collect in store. So.....if you are buying currency look online and order you get more for your £.
FAO ANY POTENTIAL BURGULARS......I am going on my own and my husband and son will be home on guard.
Hope to see you over on the challenge x Susan x
