LOTV Wk 118

Oh What have l done..... I have never done a fair before, the school my daughter teaches at are having a Christmas one in 4 weeks and l have agreed to do a table. I have sold a few of my cards in the past and when my son David passed away in July l said any money from my cards would be donated to Martin House Childrens Hospice as a bit of pay back for all they did for David.
I have a lot of cards made but thought l would make little stocking fillers so any ideas are very gratefully received. PLEASE.

The card today l made on friday as l have been in panic mode today.... this is for LOTV challenge 118 and is a sketch by Bev - a nice easy one to follow and this little cutie Birthday Fairy is yet another of my uninked stamps - shame on me. The paper are Kaisercraft (wish Upon)
Coloured with copics and lots of stickles , still practicing my grass. Sentiment LOTV.

Whiff of Joy Willow

I have made the most of the lovely weather we have had here today and spent 3 hours in the garden cutting back and tidying for the winter, hope it stays for a few more days and then it should all be done and the tools put away for another year. Hope you have all had good weather too.
On with the card - l can not remember the last time l inked Willow up and is'nt she gorgeous. I had in mind Lilac and green for the Ribbon girl challenge and played about for hours and ended up with a simple layout. I laid flowers here there and everywhere then butterflies and ended up moving them off as l felt Willow looked beautiful with just the background l inked and stamped - hope you agree.

New Beginnings

Well that is another weekend gone by, debated whether to go to Doncaster today to the craft show, l just could not make my mind up so a quick text to my friend Julie to see if she was going and after an hour on the phone my mind was made up - stay home and craft.
The challenge over at Emma's crafty store is new beginnings and l have just checked Emma's blog and she gave birth to her very own new beginning this morning - a baby girl so congratulations Emma & Steve.
I have used this little sweet image from Lili of the valley Little Acorns and coloured it with copics.I used a MS heart border punch and used the little scrap hearts too (how thrifty am l today lol), My nestie scalloped hearts and a wooden heart which l distressed. LOTV Christmas cutie

Hope you are all having some sunshine today - the sky is clear here, beautiful and bright. Have just spent hours trailing around for cake tins for the cakes hubby is making as gifts. I should have bought tins of chocolate roses, eaten them and put the cakes in there - would have been cheaper too lol.
The card
This is a lovely stamp by Lili of the Valley (another of my unstamped ones) called Skating along and l could not resist adding glossy accents to give the effect of ice. The ribbon l have had for a few years - think l got it from Samuel Taylors and have only used it flat around card and not made a bow with it before, l am pleased with the bow it looks gorgeous and gives great dimension..

Advent Box

Hello everyone, well the weekend is here and it looks like the weather is to stay fair... may have to catch up on all those outside jobs. I have spent all afternoon making my card and then it was too dull to take a decent photo so l am sharing an advent calender box l made at my friend Chris's on monday. Chris was well prepared for us and l am so pleased she cut all those tiny boxes in advance for us, all we had to do was fold and glue - thanks Chris. Two other Stampin Up friends came too Julie and Karen, Karen made the most delicious cake with a plum jam filling and we all had 2 pieces each - well it would have been rude not to finish it lol.
We used all Stampin Up products and this red paper from the christmas set is gorgeous. I kept it simple without adding any further embellishments.
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your weekend x Susan x

PBSC wk 172

Hello and welcome to my little corner. Last night and today l have had my two youngest grandchildren as l do every week and l am shattered, no energy left tonight to just taking it easy. Last night l had a major hurdle to get through - it was a school presentation night and our son had an award to collect but it was also the first time l had been back into school since David passed away and all l can say it was too much for me to take (the last time David was in normal health was the day l dropped him at school 8/4 day of his accident and that was the last time l saw him on his feet and walking). During the presentation there was a power cut so my tears were not visible to everyone.
On with my card - my youngest grandson will be 4 next week so l made this card for him, l have 3 grandsons and all have 5 letters in their names so they will all be getting a similar card.
Stamps Penny Black - Bear blanks

I am entering this into this weeks Just Magnolia Challenge where Pop's has set it as Anything Goes with the option of coffee and cream

Less Is More Wk36

After a busy day yesterday l was looking forward to a day with some playtime. Last night our water supply went off briefly when there was a mains leak in Bradford but this morning we were back to normal - or so l thought. I take my grandaughter to school in a morning as daughter starts work early, she dropped her off as normal then l had a call just as we were ready to set off - school closed due to no water supply........... So we made a mini pizza box and decorated it and hama bead animals and shapes. Tomorrow is my day.....maybe.
When l looked at the challenge at LIM on saturday l thought l have only one heart stamp and no inspiration to use it and then while flicking though my book of my stamps l saw a little heart and an idea jumped straight into my head.
The card:-
All stamps are from Stampin Up
Flourish (Baroque set)
heart (Mini Tags)
Sentiment - Christmas Is Love With all The Trimmings (Contempary Christmas)

How perfect is that sentiment for this card
I just drew squiggly lines up to flourish
Inks also Stampin Up

Challenge Less Is More wk 36 - Single layer and heart(s)
Thank you for stopping by and as always l do appreciate all comments x Susan x

Bah-Humbug wk 39

Had a couple of hours all to myself this afternoon before my two youngest grandchildren arrived for the regular wednesday night sleepover and will be here all day tomorow so l will be kept busy. I was going to do this weeks Penny Black challenge until l realised l don't have any farmyard animal stamps so went for the Bah Humbug challenge instead which this week is Nativity. I think Max, Barb and Ann all had the hump last week..... they all made cards with camels on without knowing what each of the others had done - l don't have any camels so that was out of the question. I have used stamps by crafters companion that l have had a long while and never used any from this little set - Christmas Blessings.
The papers are some l have in a box with no name on, used ktaft card for the base and MS snowflake punch. Covered the poinsettia with glossy accents and diamond dust and added a spacer and brad through the centre. The sentiment is from the same set and l have embossed in gold, the lovely stickles are gold and a few card candi dots to finish off.
Challenge Bah-Humbug wk 39 - Nativity

Tilda all sparkled up

It has been one of those days dashing here, there and everywhere and could do with adding a few more hours to it, although l am shattered.
Over on Docrafts l am hosting the Tilda challenge, this is where all my crafting started really and it saddens me to see that not many join in these days but l suppose peeps move on. I set the challenge to make your own background and not any printed papers.
I made the background with an enormous cover a card stamp inked with a SU pad then matched all my colours around it. Used kraft card again as my base and as the pack is 20 12x12 sheets you will be lots more of it lol. The big flowers l got a few years ago, they are Tara Green and were being sold off at a bargain price and are a lovely quality. Glitter and sparkle everywhere.
Take care and happy crafting always x Susan x

Lili of the Valley wk 114 - Button It

Hello to everyone stopping by - sorry l have neglected my blogging over the last few days, l hope to do some catching up now. My daughter came yesterday with the intention of crafting.... we went shopping then back home for a lovely sunday dinner and that was it for the day. Hope you have all had time to enjoy this gorgeous weather we have been having, it has been warm today but very windy - a good monday wash day.
On with the card I used the same layout as the card l made for our sons birthday the other week - which also had buttons on it but used different papers and image. I 'found' this stripy card in a pack of 10 A4 double sided christmas sheets l bought from Harrogate a year or two ago £1.20 a bargain as one side christmas the other stripy or checks, think they were from A Touch of Craft. Spotty paper from Stampin Up and Kraft card base. Blew the dust off the sewing machine added a new needle and hey presto a bit of stitching too!

Snowy Hugs

Good morning - hope you have all been getting some of the lovely sunshine the last few days. The downside is l look around for washing and have a huge mountain to iron :( The sky is quite grey and we have had a couple of spots of rain so maybe the heatwave is over.
My daughter is coming over to craft today so no HW will be done today.
My card:- The Tilda challenge over on DoCrafts is Bling so l made this card and it fits a couple of other challenges too.
I think this has to be my favourite Tilda stamp it is soooooo cute and lovely to colour especially Snowy - he's the white one lol. I have hardly used any of my Tilda stamps this year and should use them more - sorry Tilda. My neglected Magnolia papers have seen light of day too. The flowers are from WOC with stickles added. The sentiment is a cuddly buddly stamp. I have been inspired by Pop's blog - she is such a talented lady and her work is beautiful, Pop's uses Kraft card on many of her cards. I had to ask sheepishly at my local craft shop what is it and do you have some? Used kraft card for the backing, sentiment and leaves and love the effect it gives. The charm is one l bought last year from The Hobby House, the have a great selection and Jill is always very helpful.
