Here comes the sun x

What a beautiful day of sunshine today and the weatherman says more to come. Do you ever start one small job and it turns out to take all day... l decided to tidy the conservatory which had been transformed into a toy room for the grandchildren - well l don't know how it all fit in there, l decided to move some of the boxes into the garage. Big mistake the garage was a right mess as my husband has had run of it this year, my car is now loaded to the brim with stuff for the tip tomorrow and when OH is golfing on monday l will be filling it again with more of his rubbish, l think my garage has become a place for - we might need it at some time in the future store lol.
My card today is the one l made for our sons birthday a week ago l don't often do male cards as l find them so hard.
The stamp and sentiment is LOTV coloured with copics still working on the grass (Thanks Pop's for tut on your blog). The papers are Stampin Up.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 170

Hello everyone, today has just flown by - could it be something to do with the nights getting darker earlier??? Dropped son off at cadets just after 6 popped into supermarket and it was dark when l came out just after 7, think l may be going into hibination soon lol .
Todays card is for the challenge over at Penny Black Saturday - the challenge is monchromatic and l have chosen yellow. The stamp is called A Touch and l have coloured it with copics and added some beads to the centres. I stamped the background in yellow in with a cover the page stamp called vines - so easy to do when you don't have just the right coloured backing paper. Stickles around the panels - l wish l had shares in the company l seem to be using loads. Ribbon, button and flower from a Papermania capsule collection l have had for ages.
Thank you for stopping by and a BIG Thank You for all the lovely comments left on my blog recently, l have been feeling very down lately and you all cheer me up x Susan x

Bah Humbug wk 38

Hope you have all had a good weekend and enjoyed yourselves. I have been putting the finishing touches to a cardigan l started at the beginning of the year for my grandaughter, so todays card is one l mae yesterday for the Bah Humbug challenge this week which is Rudolph or Reindeer. I have managed to use stamps l have not used before (still lots to go at lol ). I used the brayer to make my background, the reindeer and verse stamp are both from Inkylicious and the tree is from Clarity Stamps, The sentiment stamp is from Stampin up, a bit of glitter here and there. The flash on the camera has left a light on the card but l am not a whizz with the camera so it is the best l can do.

Cupcake Challenge 160

Hello lovely people, l hope you are all having a good weekend and enjoying some crafty time. I have been in my room ages and only made one card, l am trying to keep my stamps all logged so l know what l have and where to find it - in theory it works well but one box has creeped in from somewhere and stamps have jumped into all by themselves so l have given them a good talking too and told them to behave. I have also sorted my copics into some sort of order.
The card..... l saw this challenge at the being of the week and the stunning card Coops has posted there, l had some black card lying around and as some know l am trying to use stamps l have not inked before (they can then be logged and put away) I can not remember how long l have had this little lady from Pink Gem designs but the colour challenge fits her well and halloween is not far away, l coloured her with copics and prismas, l coloured a background and stamped this lovely spiders web (Lavinia stamps), the boo stamp is from Stampin up. The background paper is Back to Basics ll.

Had a play day

It was lovely to see my crafty friends today when we descended on Chrissies our lovely Stampin Up crafter where we made a gorgeous Calender Bag with the help of our leader. After a bit of faffing about the final result was amazing and l hope to make a few as gifts. It is a long time since l joined in the fun and was pleased with myself that l held it all together and got through - thanks my very dear friends x
The card today is just for a LOTV challenge over on do crafts where we had a bit of a sketch to follow and embellies to add, using our fav stamp. I think this stamp is adorable all the cards l have seen have been so lovely with her and l felt l might not do it any justice but l had a long play yesterday and think it is ok. Pop's gave a bit of a tutorial on her colouring of grass (Thanks Pop's) but don't think l have got it quite right yet - note to self... practice grass!!!
The paper are Stampin Up, flowers WOC sentiment is Pink Gem. Thank you for stopping by x Susan x

Less Is More wk 33

Over at less Is more the lovely ladies are hoping to have 1000 entries - thats some going and to make it a bit easier the girls have given us freedom to play and l must say l did struggle with that. I made this one last night by repeat stamping this gorgeous little tree along the bottom of the card and just embossed 5mm in all around the edge, so simple to make and ideal for posting in the mail at Christmas - perhaps l should go and make some more contributions to this fab challenge. I have spent the morning doing HW so it is now my playtime.

Less Is More Wk32

Look what the wind has blown in - that's what l will be saying to my hubby when he comes back from golf - can you believe it, silly old .... playing in this wind.
Had a fabulous time at Harrogate this weekend, a few hours on saturday and the day there yesterday with my friend Julie, we started the day with a workshop with Barbara Gray - she is a lovely lady and we had a brill time, l had my brayer out last night to make a card too. Spent a bit more than l planned, got my LOTV stamps on saturday then yesterday l saw someone paying with a card, in the past they have been cash only, well it would have been rude to pass by and not use my card wouldn't it??? so bought some more. Disappointed Craftwork Cards did not have any of there lovely 12x12 patterned paper as l was hoping to stock up. I am determined to use all the things l bought by the end of October. We shall see.
The card is for the Less Is More Challenge and l was very pleased with the result of it, l have just shown my friend and she wants 10 making - all money in the pot for Martin House Hospice (as is all the money l make from any cards l sell.

Santa Claus is Coming to own

I have just got back from Harrogate - l can hear you all saying "but you were'nt supposed to be going until tomorrow" this is true but Michael was invited to a bereaved sibling group at Martin House in Boston Spa and the showground is only a 20 min drive away so it made sense to go and have a wander. I am going tomorrow with my friend as we already have tickets. It was not as busy as usual and managed to stay in budget with a few pounds left for tomorrow.
I made this card last night for a challenge over at Winter Wonderland where this weeks theme is Santa Claus is Coming to Town
The backing papers are DCWV Christmas Wishes, the santa stamp is by Hampton Art l have just coloured his hat and added some gold glamour dust. Flower spritzed with glimmer mist and beads added to centre. Sentiment by Fizzy Moon added punched holly leaves and beads. Thank you for stopping by

Penny Black at Allsorts

I am not even going to talk about the weather..... Posting here a bit earlier today as l have spent the morning cleaning thought l would have a bit of 'me' time. Recently while doing the rounds of blogs l saw a card on Jenny's blog (myinkyhands) which l fell in love with, it was divine the colour combo pink and blue - not something l have done before. My card is not in the same league as Jenny's but l am quite pleased with it and as my new snowflake dies came in the post yesterday l was itching to use them. And yet another of my previously uninked stamps.
I am entering this into the Penny Black at Allsorts monthly challenge which for this month is Get Ahead for Christmas and l have just noticed that one of the stamps in the prize is the one l have used and l think l will be using her again. I am going to give this card to my Grandaughter at Christmas.

Hope you have all had a good day and achieved all you set out to do. I had no intentions of spending the day cleaning but the weather has been awful today so not even poked me nose outside. Michael is back to school tomorrow so l will be able to get back into a routine (of sorts) Had a good chat with my crafty buddy Julie today - we are going to Harrogate on Sunday starting the day off with a breakfast workshop with Barbara Gray, our intentions are to watch lots of demo's and not spend much money. I have a small list of things l want and a large list of things l should not buy lol - we will see.
The card today is yet another stamp which has not seen ink before - Fizzy Moon With Love which l coloured with copics and prisma pencils added a bit of sparkle. The paper is Papermania Henbury Lane, the green card, ribbon, sentiment and gems are all Stampin Up. MS border punch, flowers from stash.

Less is More wk 31 - Metallic

Welcome to my blog today - the wind is howling it has been lashing down with rain - hope l don't have to go out again today. The leaves will soon be off the trees if it continues what happened to those Indian Summers we used to get?
Anyway on with the card, l started by looking around for metallic materials for the Less is more challenge and settled on perfect pearls but was not sure of the result so tried with gold embossing powder but l think l perferred my original one. Bearing in mind the 'Less' part of this challenge.
I choose these stamps from Butterfly Kisses the set is Clear 2 Collage/Christmas, l stamped in clear ink and brushed in perfect pearls , a squiggly line around the card (Barbara Gray style!) and mounted onto white card blank the sentiment is from the same set and embossed directly onto the card with gold embossing powder.
The other two cards are with gold embossing powder.
Not sure how adding 3 images is going to work so here we go...

Bah-Humbug Wk35

Good morning or is it afternoon, l have been sat here so long, l need a push to get some jobs done today.
I made this card yesterday when l had my PJ day along with some for less is more which l will upload later.
The theme over at Bah-Humbug this week is sentiment or text as focal point. I don't have any sentiment verses for christmas but lots of short sentiments, l choose this one "Wishing you snow much fun this Christmas" as l could use snowflakes. I cut a large scalloped piece of blue card, the frame is from craftwork cards and has snowflakes embossed which l have chalked in blue and added stickles. Added a snowflake cut in vellum and coloured edge with silver. The sentiment is embossed in silver. Hope this meets the challenge

Winter Wonderland Challenge

Had a lovely day at Flamingo Land yesterday, the traffic was very busy on the way so was lunchtime when we got there - just intime for a nice picnic lunch. The weather was good too and the last outing before returning to school on wednesday.
Had a pyjama day today, can't remember the last time l had one so long overdue.
The card :-
Image by Fizzy Moon coloured with copics added glamour dust and the snow is fluffy stuff with glitter added. The paper is a MME from last year and l stamped the corners with this gorgeous holly stamp from a set from butterfly kisses - the first time l have used these stamps ( l have so many stamps l have not used before l am ashamed to say) The poinsettia is covered in glossy accents and diamond dust and then a brad through the centre. Sentiment by LOTV, red card and ink by SU. Think l may give this to my hubby for christmas.
I am entering this into the Winter Wonderland Challenge which is Special Friend/Someone Special. I have been asked to edit this post to say who the special one is - MY HUSBAND.

Bah-Humbug wk 34

Here come The Girls is the challenge for Bah-Humbug this week and l am only just in the nick of time for joining in - 2 hours to go phew.. I thought l had done one for this week but must be getting a bit confused lol. So quickly onto the card
The image is from a set from Crafters Companion about 2 years ago - again never been used, shame on me. This image is my fav from the entire collection, as the theme is girls l thought l had better go in the pink. The pink snowflakes are stamped again from my large cover a page stamp, l can see this is going to be one of my most used stamps. The large snowflake is a quickutz die but a bit faffy as you need to cut it 6 times and fix together but still gorgeous. The papers are drom my stash and can not remember name of them, the sentiment is from the CC set which l have embossed in silver. Added stickles, glamour dust and dew drops and there you have it another christmas card, l am also using this one towards my snowflake challenge over on do crafts.
The ironing is now calling and will take a couple of hours as l am a bit behind and then some gardening to be done as the sun is shining and no wind so l can get up the ladders to cut the wisteria back l just hope my husband does not hide the loppers as l does not like me to cut back.
Enjoy your day whatever you are getting up to.
My bereavement support worker came from Martin House Hospice yesterday and the local news is having a piece on there tonight about the hospice (not sure if it is calendar or Look North) it is the most amazing place and we were priviliged to spend David's final 2 weeks there. Each day is getter more difficult for me x Susan x
