Advance apologies

Hello my lovely crafty friends, just letting you know l won't have time to visit you much this week as l have lots to do - some DT stuff to get ready as l will be away next week for my hols.  I have been very busy in the allotment getting everything planted, so less for my daughter to kill water in the greenhouse - she does not have green fingers :(  I will take a few photo's of my allotment tomorrow.

I was the lucky winner of the guess the fairies names at LOTV's birthday bash so popped over this morning to collect the gorgeous cards - Thanks Ladies.,
Here are a few photo's of my back garden l have taken today.

These 2 photo's are where my daffs and spring bulbs were and are now dying back under the perennials  so l don't have to pull them out (less work)- now full of aquiligeas,   dicentra alba, bluebells, geraniums & mint (adds to the foliage) - l don't do summer bedding as it takes too much time.

This wisteria is in a pot and has been moved a couple of times but now has the bottom cut out and set in the flags, l have cut it back last autumn

The spring bulbs are covered with japanese anenomies and a gorgeous blue speckled geranium when it flowers (Isaac played ball here and knocked my plants down) and another dicentra or bleeding heart as the are commonly known, my oriental poppies are in there somewhere too. You can just see Toby in the conservatory in his sunbathing spot too. A few pots hardening off for the allotment too - l am going to keep some of my tomatoes here, some in the greenhouse and some in the allotment and see which do best.

I love the Acer as the colours change so much through the season and it gives good shade for the pond which is full of fish - fortunately the Heron flys past and has never landed. The wild garlic was a big mistake - it looks pretty but spreads too quickly and is difficult to dig out, l have irises and a blue veronica and a couple of hostas here too.

Hope l have not bored you with my garden - it is my summer passion and l love to be outside after spending so much time inside during the winter months.

Looks like you've got a beautiful garden with a lot going on. I agree it's great to be outside, especially on weekends like the one we've just had.

Your garden is gorgeous Susan, like you I don't like the faff of summer bedding (except in my baskets which I grow myself) and have hardy perennials. I have several Dicentra that my darling Grandma gave us and granny bonnets that seem to multiply year on year, gardens are just wonderful to lose yourself in I find!! xx
